Located just outside of Downtown Dallas, Deep Ellum has been a destination for arts, music, culture and innovation since 1873.
As part of the Deep Ellum Foundation’s goal to ensure the neighborhood is an inviting environment, the foundation commissioned six artists to create banners to line the streets in honor of Black History Month. I chose to illustrate famous Dallasite and iconic musician Erykah Badu, singing under ambient stage lights.
