This mural was a commission from Culver City, who recently purchased the building. A former gun store, the controversial storefront sat across from a Mosque and within 1,000 feet of a public school. This proximity is illegal in 2024, and was grandfathered in. When the original owners decided to sell, the city stepped in to prevent another gun store from taking its’ place. I was hired to mural the building with Katy Krantz, Culver City Artist Laureate. Lettering by Brushetta. The project was a beautiful group effort and gift to the community.
